Hearing “pizza” brings smiles to the face of many people. For some, pizza is a celebration meals, others find it being the main course or reason for hangouts. Usually said by many to go well with a chilled bottle of Coke, the over a two centuries old Italian cuisine is simply a delicious combo of flat round base dough baked with topping of tomato sauce and cheese, with added meat, fish, vegetables and condiments.

Coming in different shapes and mouthwatering flavours, pizza at some point becomes the favourite of many people, especially the young. In Ghana, the rise in the number of pizza fanatics has seen a rapid increase in the number of pizzerias across the country, notably in the capital. With the pizza market becoming more competitive, we have witnessed some pizza outlets developing very attractive offers to increase clientele.

Healthy Food Can Make You Sick Too

There are many changes that occur to our body, some making us feel very uncomfortable. People react to things differently and our reaction to food is one of those things. Did you know acne, migraines, eczema and joint aches can be caused by your body’s intolerance for certain ingredients or foods in your diet?

Acne is a skin condition which is largely common amongst adolescence and teenager. Identified by the development of painful spots appearing on the face, back and/or chest and redness of the skin, acne develops when pores get blocked with an overproduction of oils causing a painful inflammation. If you continue to experience acne although you have continuously sort medical attention for the condition, you may want to take a closer look at your diet.

Acne may be a possible result of your body’s intolerance to a certain meal.
Dairy foods, soy, coconut oil, sugar, bread, peanuts are among the many foods that may be causing this dermatological condition. Take a second glance at your diet if you experiencing unending acne.

In a post on the website of Yorktest Laboratories, it was stated that “there are more than 10 different types of eczema. 15-20% of children are afflicted with it and 38% of sufferers are adults, usually with severe and persistent cases.” It may come as a surprise but certain foods such as eggs, dairy products, nuts and seeds, fish, soy products, wheat can trigger the development of this skin condition whose symptoms include dried, itchy and inflamed skin, blistered and weepy skin. If you are a chronic sufferer of eczema, take the pain to identify and eliminate the specific foods that cause it from your diet.

Joint pains are readily attributed to long hours of work and activities that put some amount of pressure on the body but do you know the food you eat may equally be a cause of your prolonged joint aches? You may persistently experience the joint stiffness and ache although you are taking your medication religiously after seeking professional medical attention. The only reason left to explain your condition is your diet. Sugar and refined carbohydrates, fried and processed foods, dairy products, alcohol, salt and preservatives, corn oil are foods you should look out for if you are a persistent victim of joint aches. However, foods such as red apples, ginger, dark green leafy vegetables, nuts, berries and extra virgin olive oil are foods identified to promote a joint ache free life.

Some describe it as the worst form of headache you can ever experience. Migraine is throbbing, painful intense headache that can be very disabling. Sometimes, it comes along with nausea, vomiting and sensitivity to light, noise or smell. If you have a constant experience of these symptoms you may want to examine what you are eating. Save yourself from an uncomfortable life caused by your body’s intolerance of some food.

As people with unique body systems, our reactions to foods and drinks we consume vary. What you may consider as your favourite ingredient may be the cause of that health problem you don’t seem to find an end to. Begin to take a closer look at what you eat and live more healthily.
